Of various things…
Just as a reminder, we do have several hearing assist devices available for use during mass. We have two models, one with an external speaker that sits over your ear, and the other is a loop that actually uses your own hearing aid and broadcasts the sound directly to your own aid. Or, if you have you own earphones that use a 1/8 inch jack, you can plug your earphones into our receiver and you are set to go. Call or let Fr. Bill if you are interested in using one of these devices.

One of the joys of living in a 64 year old rectory/church with an even older school building, is that parts start to wear out. If you have been in the Parish Center, you may notice some plastic containers holding water from our condensate return. There is a 2 ½ (maybe three) inch pipe that is developing hairline fractures, which, when the unit is returning moisture back to the boiler, shoots out like a stream from a water gun. It is a lengthy section of pipe, so the plan is to apply external patches to the pipe (very effective and very safe) to hopefully get us through this heating season. Then, in the spring or early summer, we will replace the entire length of that pipe. (If you happen to be using the Parish Center, and you hear the sound of water dripping or leaking, please contact Fr. Bill or Dave Marstall immediately…)
In addition to that pipe, the main pipe supplying water to the school and preschool has developed a more substantial leak that needed more immediate attention. We had one contractor ready to make the repair, but when they started their work, it became apparent that this was a bigger job than they felt equipped to handle. After contacting Gallagher-Bassett Insurance company, we have sought bids on the repair work, which, hopefully, by the time you are reading this, will have been completed so we are ready for school on Jan. 5th.

If you have not picked up your copy of The Four Signs of a Dynamic Catholic, or want an extra copy for your spouse or student away at college, we did order extra’s to for that purpose. (It was actually cheaper to order 500 than the number that would “just cover’ the number of registered families.) You will find them scattered near the church exits.
Finally, thanks to all who have scheduled appointments for the Parish Photo Directory. These directories are great tools for parishioners, old and new alike. If you have not scheduled your appointment, please do so at your earliest convenience…
